CA-SYS platform

REGISTRATION CLOSED - The French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE) has established an ambitious, multi-scale, agricultural experimental infrastructure (the CA-SYS platform) which covers an area of 120 ha and aims to design agricultural systems without pesticides.

REGISTRATION CLOSED

Through the CA-SYS platform (Co-designed Agroecological System Experiment), INRAE and its partners are designing experiments on innovative and sustainable agroecological systems. This arable infrastructure is using new experimental methods by combining varietal breeding, a minimisation of inputs (nitrogen, water, pesticides), the exploitation of biological interactions and the organisation of agricultural space.

Objectives of the CA-SYS Plateform:

  • Design and evaluate different agroecological systems
  • Study the transition towards these agroecological systems (Agronomical performance, evolution of farming practices, multi-performance during the shift towards new ecological equilibria...)
  • Breed new varieties adapted to agroecological conditions (Tolerant to multiple stressors, enhancing beneficial plant-microbe interactions...)
  • Understand the biological processes underlying the functioning of agroecological systems
  • Develop / update current experimental methods to create knowledge about agroecological systems

Visit program:

Shuttle departure at 9 a.m. from the Palais des Congrès and return at 3 p.m.

  • Explanations in the field of the experiments carried out on the platform
  • Posters & discussions with INRAE experimenters
  • Exhibition of mechanical weeding machines and other experimental equipment (stationary)
